PartnershipsStrategic partnerships with key primary health care provider groups is an important objective for Waikato Primary Health.
There are currently two Memorandums of Understanding in place for Waikato Primary Health. In November 2003, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Raukawa Trust Board and Waikato Primary Health. The second memorandum was signed in July 2006 with Waikato Community Pharmacy Group.
The memorandums reflect the need to have respectful and collaborative relationships in order to maintain and deliver effective local primary health services. The agreements are kept alive through representation on local management and advisory groups and a series of contract or work programme activities between the organisations. St John has been chosen as an important stakeholder in community healthcare, particularly in rural Waikato. There is significant potential for Waikato Primary Health to work alongside their services to improve outcomes for our community. The intention to progress this memorandum has been signalled previously as a unique strategic relationship. The memorandum is set to be signed on July 4 2007.
